These are the guys that fought things like tombstones featuring Disney characters, even though they stood little to gain from it (not like Disney will be selling tombstones any time soon). The fact that trademark law can backdoor permanent effective copyright is a serious problem. A simple thought experiment about derivative works should be enough to convince you of that.
