I read more about it after reading your replies and it seems where I was wrong is that I thought the ~€120 /month was money paid in taxes when instead it’s money paid to a private company. But I mentioned it’s a system run by private companies, so I think the spirit of what I said stands. But in the Netherlands no one is uninsured. In the US tens of millions are uninsured and because Republican governors refused Obama’s Medicaid expansion (government insurance essentially for folks below the poverty line) tens of thousands of people die each year because they’re uninsured.
